"My Last Days"

With the pain and heartache I see in my job on a daily basis, it was so wonderful to see something so inspiring and a kid who is so inherently good you can feel it. May we all try to live like him without first requiring a diagnosis. I really want to go on a picnic now.

Vocabulary lesson. Need to incorporate more of these.

Dove Real Beauty Sketches - YouTube

You are more beautiful than you think. Just another wonderful reminder from Dove. It truly makes you wonder how your own sketches would turn out.

All of us harbor secret hopes that a magnificent novel will tumble out of the sky and appear on our screens, but almost universally, writing is hard, slow, and totally unglamorous. So why finish what you’ve started? Because when you are done, you will be grateful for the experience. Also, you will have learned a lot about writing and humanness and the inestimable value of tilting at windmills.

Whether you’re reading or writing, there is nothing magical about how you get from the middle of a book to the end of one. As Robert Frost put it, “The only way out is through.” So go spit in the face of our inevitable obsolescence and finish your @#$&ng novel.

I am reminded why I love John Green. And why I chose such a low word count goal.

Sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I’m not living.

This show was SO awesome. And this song makes me laugh so hard. I love when comedians find things funny.

NaNoWriMo

I decided to do NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this month. Or technically, Camp NaNoWriMo. Instead of the typically required 50,000 words in a 30 day span, writers get to choose their word goals and their genre.

I made the goal of 10,000 words if for nothing else then to encourage me to write something. This is my way of holding myself accountable. So far I’m 124 words in. Only 9,876 more to go.

Love him.
